What Does It Mean to Be Wealthy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Short and simply put \u2014 for me, being wealthy means being able to decide how I use the only capital I truly have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that capital is time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We only have a limited amount of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We can\u2019t make more. We can\u2019t borrow it. We can\u2019t get it back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every second that has just passed is gone forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Truly \u2014 forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the moment we are born until the moment we die, we have exactly the amount of time we are given. Not a second more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we were children, even though we could play all day, it was never enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We never wanted to go to sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We always wanted more time to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then came the moment we had to go to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And suddenly, part of the time that used to be ours was taken away and assigned to education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And now, something very important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The older you get, the more people and obligations will want you to give them your time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notice that I used the word give \u2014 because it really means to sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And to sacrifice something means losing it forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this case, what you lose is time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being wealthy means taking back full control over it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It means that I \u2014 and only I \u2014 decide what I will spend my time on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is what being truly wealthy means to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
