What Does It Mean to Be Wealthy?
Short and simply put — for me, being wealthy means being able to decide how I use the only capital I truly have.
And that capital is time.
We only have a limited amount of it.
We can’t make more. We can’t borrow it. We can’t get it back.
Every second that has just passed is gone forever.
Truly — forever.
From the moment we are born until the moment we die, we have exactly the amount of time we are given. Not a second more.
When we were children, even though we could play all day, it was never enough.
We never wanted to go to sleep.
We always wanted more time to play.
Then came the moment we had to go to school.
And suddenly, part of the time that used to be ours was taken away and assigned to education.
And now, something very important.
The older you get, the more people and obligations will want you to give them your time.
Notice that I used the word give — because it really means to sacrifice.
And to sacrifice something means losing it forever.
In this case, what you lose is time.
Being wealthy means taking back full control over it.
It means that I — and only I — decide what I will spend my time on.
That is what being truly wealthy means to me.
